Wow, this is just a magnificent place to visit. Rather than driving into the park, find a free parking spot near the entrance on State Park Drive, enjoy the stunning views from the top of the cliff. Take the staircase just to the east – – it’s 151 steps and you’ll run into fitness fanatics running up and down. Then visit the wharf and the WW1 concrete ship deteriorating and covered with water fowl at the end of the pier. Visit the Whale Museum there too. There is also a nice walk to the west where campers are parked and the visitors and their pets are very friendly. At the end of that 20-minute stroll is a wall filled with memorial plaques and pictures of people, dogs, cats, and visitors. Bring your camera! This is a truly wonderful photo-op location.
