Great trail, if you go up starting to the right instead of left it's a more challenging hike, nice forest scenery. Temescal Canyon is a well marked trail so you wont be lost. We hiked the loop clockwise, so sweeping coastal and city views were a great reward for a pretty steep climb to the top of the ridgeline. Falls were bone dry but I would definitely make a point of coming back after some rains to see them in action. Plenty of shade, especially inside the canyon. $10 fee for parking. Nicely shaded picnic facilities at the trailhead. Usually this trail is really crowded but not too many people on a Sunday afternoons which is even greater!
