Semuc Champey is a natural monument in the department of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, near the Q'eqchi' Maya town of Lanquín.
It consists of a natural 300 m limestone bridge, under which passes the Cahabón River.
You can easliy walk to the remotest end of the park to see the waterfalls and then work your way back through the pools. You can jump from one to the other and walk back up to get your stuff afterwards.Waterfall, and the crowning glory of Semuc Champey natural pools! Worth every penny - but take a pack lunch and plenty of water. Also don't pay more then 180Q.
Just before the entrance to the park you will cross a bridge over the river, where local kids can often be seen plunging into the water below. It’s not for those with a fear of heights, but it’s a real adrenaline rush if you can stomach it.
