San Bruno Mountain Park is a landmark of local and regional significance, standing as a unique open-space island in the peninsula's urbanization at the northern end of the Santa Cruz Mountain Range.
The 2,416 acres of rugged landscape offer excellent hiking opportunities and outstanding views of San Francisco and Central Bay Area.
Relatively easy hike with spectacular, albeit often hazy panoramic views of the Bay Area. An abundance of California wildflowers pepper the landscape. Clouds steam in over the mountain, and from the peak, they seem close enough to reach out and touch. It can be quite cold, especially when fog rolls in and the wind picks up. Watch out for poison oaks.
No dogs or other pets are allowed in the park.
