I love Runyon canyon! This was a great hike. It's pretty tough up to the ski Hut but well worth it when you get to the summit. There were only a few people at the top today while I was there. The views were great and it was clear enough to see out to Catalina. The descent from the summit to the Devil's Backbone is pretty steep and I was glad to have the trekking poles. The Devil's Backbone Trail was cool and not as steep as the trail up. After those two legs of the hike it was nice to get to the Notch and have a beer before heading down the fire road to Manker (with a quick detour to the falls to complete the day). It was a great way to spend a day.
