The Lichtenstein Castle is located on the edge of the Swabian Alps in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. This gothic-style castle is perched on a beautifully exposed cliff overlooking a wooded valley, from the villa you can also see the southern part of the town of Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein Castle is often considered one of Germany's most fairytale-esque castles to visit. The surrounding landscape is very green and lush during the spring and summer, but in the autumn it is when Lichtenstein Castle is at its best. The surrounding hills and valleys, all filled with trees, turn into a beautiful orange and yellow as the leaves begin to change. Even among the snow-capped hills in the winter the castle holds a certain elegance, but the castle is closed during some of the winter months, details of when the castle is open below. The villa is open to the public for tours, daily from April to October and on weekends only in February, March, and November. Tours are not available in December and January.
