With mountains overlooking it and shores surrounded by incredible with hiking trails, Kochelsee has been an attraction to hiker and artists alike.
Located about 65 km south of Munich, Kochelsee can be reached through the A95 motorway from Munich to Garmisch and also by using taking the S-Bahn to Tutzing (Starnberger See) and transferring to the branch rail line which goes to Kochel. This superb lake sprawls a location of round 6 square kilometers and has the most depth of sixty-six meters.
The finest trek around this location is Kochelsee, Jochberg und Walchensee Rund. This path starts with a steep rocky road. Before approaching the pond, Walchensee, it meanders through the woods. It is one of Germany's biggest and deepest mountain lakes.
Please note that mountain bicycles may be banned from certain parts of this path. This is a scheme of many paths that interconnect and may alter the path position. In order to see if bicycles are permitted, please see indications along the walk. There are many other paths in the region for connecting and completing the circuit on foot or by bicycle or for shortening or extending the trip.
