Poo Point is on West Tiger Mountain's shoulder, and a small knoll is topped with a windsock by a mast. The knoll is only a few feet higher than the surrounding area, but it describes Poo Point as one of the summits of the West Tiger, if minimal.
Before resuming a very gentle climb on an old logging grade, the trail loses 170 feet of elevation to reach Poo Point-the North Launch Viewpoint in particular. The gravel road that arrives at the Point is the West Side Road, one of several non-public service roads that starts on Highway 18 at the Tiger Summit. The Point is a great place to sit and have a snack and enjoy the view. There are two picnic tables and a Clivus toilet is available. There's no regular source of water at the Point. If your timing is right, you might enjoy watching a few paragliders jump off the Point's steep northwest face.
The trail is well used and draws locals on a regular basis. Saw many families with children of all ages from babies in carriers and beyond... Not wheelchair or stroller friendly. A little bit narrow at times so I don't bring my pup on this hike for that reason.Parking can be a challenge, but this is a great trail! It's challenging as it's fairly vertical. But the heart and views appreciate it. it's a bummer that I forgot my camera so had to take some quick pics on my phone.
