Parashar Lake, is a 25 km steep yet scenic ride from Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. It is straight out of 13th century or even before. A pristine elliptical Lake surrounded by short hills on all the sides. Wild horses grazing in plateaus nearby. Changing weather every few minutes. Rain accompanied by thunder and lightning without notice. Golden sunshine few minutes later. Blowing, cold wind even on a May afternoon. Earthy, woody fragrance notes in the air. Tall trees standing guard like they were there since the beginning of time. Mystic mountains at horizon. Almost meditative to look at them. 13th century temple blending in surrounding. Few stone and wood traditional structures.
The prashar temple provides basic accommodation and food. Washroom is a few minutes walk from the temple.
