Chill by the Canal Saint-Martin

In the heart of Paris, away from the busy city, the Saint-Martin canal is a haven that you can discover calm and quiet. For more than 150 years, this Canal links the Seine river, behind Notre-Dame cathedral, to the canals of the Ourcq river and of Saint-Denis in the North of Paris. 

The charm and romanticism of the Canal, with its one-hundred-year-old sweet chestnuts, and its lively banks makes it a trendy place to stroll.

The Saint-Martin Canal is the best place for love and reflection. Very fresh and lively shops and a host of hip bistros can be found on its shores, where the Parisians can enjoy a stroll, a lunch, a boat, or a cocktail. You will also be able to discover the famous « Hôtel du Nord,» famed thanks to the same title movie and Arletty, today a trendy restaurant for Parisian evenings, serving a« bistronomic » cuisine. Once down near Rue de Recollets and Rue de Lancry, you can slow down and maybe stop at a cafe. Republique is an impressive statue and square so you will want to walk down there.
