This trail is a heavy foot traffic but for a fun trail close to Philadelphia and the suburbs its absolutely worth it. A decent amount of trailhead parking, tons of picnic tables and play areas located around the park area and nice trails.
There are several ways to get to the trail head of the upper parking lot. You can drive and park in the lot to 990 Northwestern Avenue. The lot closes in the winter at 6:00 pm and the rest of the year at 8:30 pm. Times will be posted on the gate of the parking lot. You can also get there using SEPTA and take the 27 bus to Northwestern Ave and walk down a mile to the parking lot at Northwestern 6/10. Follow the sign next to the Friendly's on the Northwest. The trails are not open to bikes in the Andorra Natural Area, but the sections of the Yellow and Orange Trails that we will explore later are open to all park users.
