Fort Greene Park

Fort Greene remains the highest point in Brooklyn and retains a rich history of being not only Brooklyn's first park, but built during the Revolutionary War for defense. Walt Whitman, whose name can be found on a multitude of things in the area, aided in turning it in to public recreational space. Furthermore, this park is a beautiful place.  The landscaping is gorgeous and it's full of great open land that is perfect for picnics, gatherings, sports, or just lounging.
