The trail is great for walking or running.Go see the Tidal Basin during the Cherry Blossom festival. Bring good walking shoes, water and a good camera. Limited open parking. Please bring your patience, lots of visitors and vehicle traffic in this small area. Watch your step, many people bring blankets, chairs, strollers and telescopic lens cameras. The Jefferson Memorial is within walking distance. The blossoms smell so sweet and beautiful to see in person. The festival was well worth taking a day or a weekend off; which I did both while working in McLean, VA. I was thoroughly satisfied and wish I was able to go again. It is a good trip for family, couples, your date or any occasion while the blossoms last. I was there several years ago, so ignore the selected travel date on this. Check out the you tube videos to get an idea what the event will be like, if you decide to go.
